Concept and art direction – Campaign to raise awareness for Goodwill Industries and financial support for their jobs program. The poster forces the viewer to make the connection to opportunity as a solution and how the viewer could make a difference. It conveys the message that people aren’t just asking for a handout, they need opportunities and Goodwill provides these opportunities with the help of financial gifting. I worked with Sam McCarty, an amazing photographer, for the imagery.
O is for Octopus. This project began with a challenge to create something “organic” from a selection of symbols in Illustrator. I created the octopus from a colon (: ) and a small squiggle mark. The entire illustrator image is made of these two shapes, morphed, sized, colored and layered to create the image. If you zoom in you can see the tiny shapes.
This project was a redesign from a 2006 film. Drawing the viewer in with a compelling image that conveys a message that demands questions. They want to know more…that was my goal for this poster. The poster needed to mirror the films content of suspense, intrigue and secrets begging to be revealed.
