Logos can be a fun process incorporating personality, graphics and typography into the mix. The challenge: limited to one typeface and one letter as a main character for the brainstorming session. There were several others in this exercise, but this helps to illustrate that even within some predetermined, limiting parameters you can get creative and find effective ways to communicate within the form. The three companies utilized for the mock designs were a hair salon, a fishery supply house and a surf board company. These three were my favorites of the ones I played with. I ended up falling in love with the form of this typeface during this exercise, which is how my own mark was born.
